We HEART Markets

South Africa is on a whole other level when it comes to local markets, and we LOVE it!

These weekly pop-up markets, where farmers, brewers, bakers, and candle makers gather (usually) under one of these magnificent stretch tents (as seen in the photo above) to sell their products to the public.

There's nothing better than doing your weekly shopping outdoors, especially when you can tick off items from your shopping list such as organic vegetables, raw honey, locally produced drinks, and much more! Plus, you can't exactly take a snack break at an artisan food stand when you're trudging up and down the aisles of a regular grocery store, can you?!

One of our favorite markets in South Africa is the Cape Point Vineyard Community Market in Noordhoek. Imagine this: you lay out your picnic blanket on the lush, green lawn, pick up the artisanal dish you want, and enjoy it with a glass of red from the vineyard while watching the beautiful sun set behind the Atlantic Ocean.

We are really looking forward to exploring Sweden's markets this summer. Feel free to leave a comment with your favorite market!
